This position is located in San Diego RCI DLSE.
The Attorney classification is being appropriated for Deputy Labor Commissioner I.
The Associate Governmental Program Associate classification is being appropriated for Industrial Relations Representative.

Under the general direction of the Deputy Labor Commissioner III, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, Retaliation Complaints Investigation (RCI):
Plans and conducts investigations, including telephonic interviews of complainant, respondent and witnesses;
Conducts investigative conferences;
Determines the extent of compliance with applicable provisions of the State Labor Laws;
Take affidavits and secures pertinent information from outside sources;
Meets with employers, employees and their representatives to explain and interpret Labor Code sections; advises employers of violations;
Prepares written report and recommends action to the Labor Commissioner;
Prepares lost wages calculations, Notice, Demand letter, and Legal Referral;
Attends administrative hearings or Superior Court as a witness to present investigatory evidence;
Performs information duties which may be at the Public Information Counter or on the telephone;
Manages caseload to effectively process and monitor cases from assignment, through the investigation and to close;
Maintains RCI databases and status reports:
Performs other duties as required.
Plans and conducts field investigations including inspections, and interviews of parties and witnesses.
Attends/participates in out-of-office meetings; travels as needed.
