Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, Probate and Settlement Recovery Branch (PSRB), and with a substantial amount of independence and discretion, the Recovery Analyst (AGPA) administers all aspects of the Lien Identification and Probate and Settlement Recovery Program as it relates to compensation provided by CalVCB.  The AGPA also handles a significant caseload of complex transactions, requiring collaboration with Program staff and outside agencies to analyze billing irregularities and recommend an appropriate course of action, including education, pursuing civil remedies and liens, reporting misconduct to a licensing Board, or seeking prosecution.

Applications will be screened and only the most qualified applicants will be selected for an interview.  In order to ensure you meet the minimum qualfiications for AGPA (see classification description link), please ensure you are detailed in describing your previous work experience.  If you do not have one year as an SSA, range C, you are required to have a minimum of three years (with a four year degree) of journey-level analytical experience as the majority of your duties.  Additional years journey-level analytical work experience can be substituted on a year for year basis with education (read classification description).  Unless the recruitment specifically states it will consider applications at the Staff Services Analyst level, you are required to meet the minimum qualifications for AGPA.
