Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager II, Restitution Branch, the AGPA administers the California Victim Compensation Board’s (CalVCB) assessment and collection of restitution fines, orders and penalties from defendants in conformance with the Government Codes, Penal Codes, Welfare and Institution Codes, Health and Safety Codes, Motor Vehicles and Revenue and Taxation Codes.  The AGPA works with criminal justice collection entities statewide, local and state government offices.  Failure to accurately respond to collection inquiries could negatively impact the Restitution Fund as well as the CalVCB’s credibility.  This position receives a high volume of calls that require research and analysis.

Applications will be screened and only the most qualified applicants will be selected for an interview.  In order to ensure you meet the minimum qualfiications for AGPA (see classification description link), please ensure you are detailed in describing your previous work experience.  If you do not have one year as an SSA, range C, you are required to have a minimum of three years (with a four year degree) of journey-level analytical experience as the majority of your duties.  Additional years journey-level analytical work experience can be substituted on a year for year basis with education (read classification description).  Unless the recruitment specifically states it will consider applications at the Staff Services Analyst level, you are required to meet the minimum qualifications for AGPA.
