Job Description and Duties

Position is located in the Natomas Office.

Under the direct supervision of the Supervising Property Appraiser and under guidance of the Senior Specialist Property Appraiser, the Assistant Property Appraiser serves as a member of Welfare Exemption Section, that performs a wide variety of analytical and administrative functions to assist in the management and coordination of issuing Organizational Clearance Certificates (OCC) and Supplemental Clearance Certificates (SCC) associated with the welfare and veterans' organization exemptions. The incumbent researches, reviews, and analyzes various documents submitted as part of welfare OCC and SCC claim filings, and retrieves and verifies information to determine if the organization is eligible for the exemption. The incumbent also assists in conducting research and analysis on property tax issues regarding the welfare and veterans' organization exemptions. Travel may be required throughout the state up to 50 percent of the time by automobile and airplane.

Statement of Qualifications

The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is a narrative of how the candidate's education, training, experience, and skills meet the minimum and desirable qualifications and qualify them for the position.
