Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the Information technology Supervisor II (ITSup II), the ITS I works as the lead technical specialist working independently and as part of the team on the most complex systems software projects related to several Department of Justice:

• (DOJ) information technology systems of varying priorities, including mission-critical Firearms Applications.

• The ITS I duties include but are not limited to designing, evaluating, troubleshooting, development, enhancement, testing, and maintenance of the most complex JAVA (J2EE) applications. The ITS I will maintain and support the Firearms Applicantions and other related applications using JAVA, Oracle, PL/SQL, Oracle client tools such as  SQL Developer, SQLPlus, and XML. As part of system monitoring, the position duties will analyze and resolve system failures and software problems on a 24 x 7 basis to ensure data integrity, as well as, having the system available to DOJ's Law Enforcement clients. Maybe required to work outside of normal business hours.

• Experience Java application server, versioning software, java build tool experience, defect tracking tool (JIRA) • Experience gathering business requirements and running JAD sessions.

• Experience developing test scripts and test plans.

• Experience testing large and complex information systems, • Demonstrate leadership skills and communicate in clear, concise manner including the ability to promote trust and credibility with a diverse business customer community and peers.

• Ability to adapt to a fast pace development environment with priorities and business requirement changes.
