Job Description and Duties

PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER I (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) ($18.01 - $22.58/HOUR) - FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION / HEADQUARTERS

The reporting location for this position is the Facilities Management Division located at the Helibron Mansion in Sacramento with extensive travel and long-term project coordination at any State Park. This position will work under the Supervision of the Staff Park and Recreation.

This position will frequently work from remote locations to efficiently complete task assignments.  This position will provide daily support to California Conservation Corp (CCC) and American Conservation Experience (ACE) crews in project implementation that includes: trail and road construction, maintenance and resource activities.  Work will include heavy manual labor, extensive walking to and from work sites, hot summer temperatures, cold winter conditions including work in rain and snow conditions, and work in high altitude, desert and coastal environments.  This position is required to work nights, weekends, and odd hours and overtime in accomplishment of assigned tasks.  This position will spike camp at work sites throughout the state.  Remote work locations, 8 or 10 day work assignments, overnight travel and spike camps are expected.

The work schedule will be an 8-day workweek from Wednesday to Wednesday from 7:00am to 5:30pm with 6 days off.  This position may work up to 1500 hours per year and employment is dependent on special project funding.

This position requires a Class B license with a passenger endorsement.  Please provide proof of eligibility with application.
