Job Description and Duties

Under general direction of the Supervising Special Investigator I (Non-Peace Officer) or designee, incumbents perform the insurance investigations relating to regulatory compliance and/or criminal investigations including the enforcement of California and Federal laws related to the transaction of insurance.  Travel is required.  Background check and fingerprinting are required.  Working irregular hours may be required including nights, holidays, and weekends.  Investigators are appointed pursuant to the provisions of Penal Code § 830.11, and as such, the completion of a thorough background investigation prior to appointment is required.


This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code.  The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests.  The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.  Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.

Working Conditions

Must be willing to work in high-rise buildings.
