Job Description and Duties

STATE PARK INTERPRETER I ($3,654 - $4,575) – BAY AREA DISTRICT / SAN FRANCISCO BAY SECTOR / ANGEL ISLAND STATE PARK

The reporting location for this position is Angel Island State Park. This position will work under the direction of the State Park Peace Officer Supervisor. 

This Angel Island State Park Interpreter I will be primarily assigned to the United States Immigration Station. Coordinating and providing tours, training volunteers, and providing PORTS programming. 

As part of the interpretive team, this position will help enact the Interpretation Master Plan across the island with programs and events. Angel Island attracts large numbers of school groups, individuals and organizations interested in learning about immigration history, Native Americans, historic military operations, as well as natural and recreation resources. This position also provides daily operational support to the island.  There are great opportunities for cultural and natural resources management learnings, community engagement and working with two active cooperating associations.
