Department Information

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), Clinical Assurance and Administrative Support Division (CAASD), San Diego Medi-Cal Field Office (SDMFO) is seeking candidates for a Nurse Evaluator (NE) II. If you are passionate about helping to ensure that the over 12 million Californians that are on Medi-Cal receive quality health care and you are ready for a challenging career, then submit your application to the address provided. 

Job Description and Duties

The NE II performs onsite oversight reviews and adjudication of Treatment Authorization Requests (TARs) for Medi-Cal beneficiaries for medical necesstiy of services requested.

Special Requirements

  • The position(s) require(s) a CA Board Certififed License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Possession of a valid license to practice as a professional registered nurse in California. And Either I
One year of experience performing duties of a Nurse Evaluator I, Health Services.
Or II
Three years of professional nursing experience in an institution licensed for inpatient care. (Possession of a Master’s Degree in Nursing may be substituted for one year of the required experience).
