Job Description and Duties

The Seasonal Clerk will be responsible for performing a variety of duties that support 1) the legal casework of attorneys, paralegals and secretaries, and 2) the business service functions necessary to ensure the smooth running of the legal office.  Under the supervision of a Legal Support Supervisor, the incumbent will assist with preparing legal documents by copying, labeling, tabbing, and assembling exhibits, transcripts and other large, complex, multi-part documents, and filing documents with various courts. The incumbent will also assist with a variety of business service functions including travel claim processing, coordinating building maintenance requests, reception coverage, and assisting with meetings and conferences.

Desirable Qualifications

Incumbent possesses strong computer skills, is well organized, work well under pressure, and is able to work both independently and as a member of a team. Good typing, spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, follow oral and written directions, and exercise good judgment. Ability to demonstrate excellent work habits, good attendance, dependability and flexibility. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Preferably be able to type 40 words per minute.
