Job Description and Duties

DSH-Napa, Mall Services Department is anticipating a vacancy for a permanent full-time Office Technician (Typing) position.

 

Candidates should possess good interpersonal skills, be able to multi-task, be proficient in Excel, be timely and organized and have good attendance. Office Technicians (OT) at Mall Services perform a variety of general and specialized functions, exercise a high degree of initiative and independence in performing assigned duties, and require energy and interest in interacting with patients. Duties include phone, fax and printer usage; record keeping and filing; mail distribution; lots of data entry; patient and community volunteer escorting; assisting several managers; mall & unit staff/providers, patients and visitors. Candidates must have excellent organizational skills, communication skills with all levels of the organization and computer competencies including Word and Excel programs (familiarization with WaRMSS & MAPP is a plus). A typing certification is required for this Office Technician (Typing) position. Please provide at the time of your interview a typing certificate issued within the last four years that certifies your ability to type at a speed of 40 WPM.  Napa State Hospital will honor typing certificates certified from a five (5) minute typing test that meets the CalHR requirements, with a minimum of 40 WPM (words per minute). The California Department of Human Resources has approved certificates from the following entities:

Department Information

Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness.  Classified as a low to moderate security facility, the hospital has a bed capacity to treat up to 1,362 patients on an attractive campus with treatment units located on 138 acres. You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired.
