Job Description and Duties

The POST is recruiting to fill one Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) vacancy in the Basic Training Bureau (BTB). 

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the AGPA has specified staff and analytical responsibility for the curriculum of basic courses, planning and coordination of basic course meetings and workshops, and preparation and submission of documents to the Office of Administrative Law.

The Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) is a small agency of approximately 117 dedicated law enforcement professionals and support staff, who maintain quality standards, deliver testing, and maintain training records and certifications for 100,000 peace officers and safety dispatchers across the state.

Special Requirements

A COMPLETE STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS (SOQ) IS REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED ALONG WITH YOUR STATE APPLICATION.  IF THE SOQ IS NOT SUBMITTED, THE APPLICANT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW.  THE SOQ SHOULD BE TYPED ON 8 1/2 X 11 PAPER USING 12-POINT FONT, INCLUDING THE APPLICANT'S FULL NAME AND DATE AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE.  IT SHOULD NOT EXCEED 2 PAGES IN LENGTH. 

This position requires the possession of strong analytical skills and an in-depth understanding of complex regulatory and statutory requirements that direct much of the BasicTraining Bureau’s programs. This position will plan, organize and coordinate workshop presentations and site visits, as well as analyze legislative changes and other drivers affecting academy course content.
