Job Description and Duties

The State Water Resources Control Board’s, San Diego Region has an opening for a Water Resource Control Engineer in the Storm Water Management Unit.  The position location is 2375 Northside Drive, Suite 100 San Diego, CA 92108.

Duties:

Under close supervision of a senior level supervisor and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) Strategic Plan and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, San Diego Region (San Diego Water Board) Practical Vision strategy document, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal and external customers, follow through on commitments, and consider both internal and external customer input when performing the full range of professional water quality engineering work related to the water quality programs of the San Diego Water Board.

Statement of Qualifications

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be submitted along with the State Application and serves as documentation of candidate’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. Indicate your total years of experience when answering the following statements/questions:

  • Knowledge of or work experience in the principles and practice of environmental or civil engineering relating to water quality control
  • Knowledge of or work experience in physical, biological, and chemical factors relating to the control of water pollution and water quality; aquatic ecology, chemistry, biology, and statistics; and management of surface waters and groundwaters
  • Knowledge of or work experience in the interpretation, implementation, and enforcement of State and federal regulations, concerning storm water quality control
