Job Description and Duties

STAFF SERVICE ANALYST

Financial Services - Accounting Department

The Financial Services, Accounting Department, has an immediate opening for a full time, permanent Staff Services Analyst. The incumbent is under the supervision of the Accounting Administrator I, and performs work of average difficulty in a wide variety of consultative and analytical services. The duties include analysis of outside medical contracts and review of HICF-1500, UB-04 and EOB for services provided and legal payment in accordance with contract agreement or the Welfare and Institutes Code Section 41001.5; verification of contract coding and performs invoice disputes as needed. Performs analysis and reconciliation of financial records, conducts research and analysis of financial discrepancies and performs error correction and adjustments. Coordinates with departmental personnel and budget managers on outside medical billing concerns and communicates with outside medical vendors. Reviews invoices for appropriate payment and prepares claim schedules for submission to the State Controller’s Office. Maintains accurate financial records, performs quarterly review of financial reports, and records and performs data entries. Process VCB (Victims Compensation Board). Assists and serves as backup on Accounts Receivable review and analysis. Assists on the collection process of outstanding Accounts Receivables. Interface with Medical Ancillary Services and interact with HIMD for the verification of ancillary sheets, appointments and CPT codes in alignment of procedures performed to the patient. Utilize CalSTARS on a regular basis to post expenditures, adjustments and research. This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills in dealing with other departments and outside vendors.
