Job Description and Duties

The Health Records Technician II (Sup) [HRT II (Sup)] is accountable for the receipt, filing, handling, converting, reviewing, completion, storing and forwarding of all inpatient and outpatient health records of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation inmates incarcerated at Sierra Conservation Center, ensuring that the records are available at all times for current and future health care and are maintained in a safe and secure environment which protects their confidentiality and guards against unauthorized access and release.

Special Requirements

EITHER I:  Two years of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Health Record Technician I.

 

Or II:  Four years of increasingly responsible medical or health records experience, performing a variety of tasks including at least two years of coding, indexing, and abstracting health data.

This limited term position is for 12 months and has the possibility of becoming permanent AND/OR being extended up to 24 months.
